Chapter 13: Perceptive Content (Imaging)

Perceptive Content is a software system that MCC uses to store electronic images of student information including high school transcripts, AP scores, SAT/ACT scores, etc. It can be very helpful for an advisor to use Perceptive Content to best advise students.

  • To open Perceptive Content, double click the Perceptive Content icon (yellow circle/sun) on the desktop.
  • Sign into Perceptive Content using your windows user name and password (same as signing onto your computer).
  • The Documents tab (sheet of paper) on the Perceptive Content toolbar allows you to search for a documents or student ID numbers (M#). *You can access a student by using this function if you have their full name (including middle initial) or their student ID number (M#).
    • Quick Search tab
      • Drop down box 1 – set to either “Field 1” or “Field 2”
      • If you are using “Field 1”, you search by M#
      • If you are using “Field 2”, you search by name (exactly as it appears on Banner; ex. LName, FName)
      • Hit Go
      • Note: If you don’t have a student’s full name or student ID number, you can search for them in Self-Service Banner under ID Selection (in the Faculty Services Section).
  • Scroll through the pages in the file using the arrow keys (right or left) located in the bottom left potion of the window.
  • The Zoom icon (green magnifying glass) on the toolbar allows you to increase the size of the document.
